Season 1

101 | Just A Proposal

We meet the Shreducation team led by legendary ex-pro snowboarder Jesse Fulton and find out how and why he created his elite snowboard program. We get to know the hilarious and talented kids who have dreams of shredding super stardom: Zak (15), Jake (15), Harry (13), and Scot (16). It's summer time, and the kids hang out during a sunset wake-boarding session and have some fun wake skating. Here we get a glimpse of Jesse's "unique" coaching style. The next day, everyone jets off to New Zealand for their first international competition. They have big goals, high expectations (their own and everyone else's) and are ready to leave their mark on the world of snowboarding. But are they really prepared for what comes next?

102 | This Is Shreducation

Jesse and the team are in New Zealand for some serious training and the first major contest of the season at Snow Park, a sick jumps-only mountain resort. As they begin to train in the half pipe, Zak, a young kid with incredible talent and attitude to match, gets frustrated and quits. Jesse is furious and blows up, leaving both reeling. Later in the day Zak returns determined to do better, and throws two huge back to back 9's. The NZ Burton Open begins and Zak does very well and qualifies, while Jake continues to fall and hurt himself. Jesse's concerned with Jake's mental state, due to his parent's ongoing, painful divorce. We also get to meet Mini Shred, a cute eleven year old who backs down from nothing.

103 | If You're Not Scared, Step It Up

A trip to some local hot springs gives the kids a chance to relax and have some fun with Jesse remembering the good old days. During the slope-style event the NZ wind goes gnarly, Scot takes a bad fall from a 60 ft jump but is up right away, holding back the tears. Probably one of the worst jumps Jesse has ever scene. Jesse coaches Zak into the finals of the Burton Open and ends up finishing 8th, a huge accomplishment and a sample of good things to come. The good mood doesn't last long. Zak, Scot and Jake break the team house rules and almost get sent home by Jesse, angered that his trust is broken.

104 | The Heaviest Goes First

It's the last week in New Zealand, and the team is suddenly free to experience the adventure capital of the world. Jesse lets the kids loose on a downhill luge and a bungee jump hundreds of feet in the air. Mini Shred wants to jump but is too light, leaving the older kids to show how it's done, including 14 year-old Garret from Mammoth Lakes, CA who back flips off the platform and gets props from everyone. Jesse is proud of how hard the kids have trained so far and signs them up to one more big time event, the Billabong Slopestyle Jam. Harrison Gray, 13, lands a sick run including back to back 7's and wins the junior competition, helping him take another step in his quest to one day be the best.

105 | Boom, Boom, Boom, Undisputed

Good-bye New Zealand, hello Australia, mate! Shreducation's global tour continues and heads to a remote region with snow covered mountains for another international competition, the Burton Australian Open. The kids are amazed by their surroundings - kangaroos jumping in their backyard and beautiful sunny weather during pipe training that has Mini Shred wearing just a t-shirt on the slopes. However, Jesse gets fed up with the kid's "lack of dedication" and refuses to coach them for a day. Unfortunately Jake, still upset with his parental situation, crashes hard and cuts his face open, making Jesse feel guilty he wasn't with him. The team and Jesse come together and work it out, and they end up having an awesome time at the contest. Jesse competes for the first time in 10 years to show the kids he still has the skills in the pipe. The last day is spent at Bondi Beach in Sydney where they discover a skate park that's copied in their favorite Tony Hawk video game. Harry drops into a concrete pool and gets some respect from the locals.

106 | Part Of The Regimen, Walk To The Beach

Welcome to Southern, California the birth place of skateboarding. After a month of hard training and competing, Shreducation hits the waves of Laguna Beach. Jake and Zak get their first chance to try surfing. Garret, already an accomplished surfer at age 14 teaches his buddies how to stand up on the board. The next stop is Ryan Scheckler's home skate park in San Clemente where the kids get a chance to skate with some serious So Cal heat. Finally back home, the team waits for the first snowfall in the North East and end up having a rail session at Scot's backyard after a huge dumping of snow. Sometimes the kids just love to ride with each other and just have fun, without the pressure of competition. Next its time to jet to Hamburg, Germany to train in an indoor half pipe resort. The adventure continues.

107 | Is 'Yeti' a German Word?

Shreducation ditches the books and heads to Snow Fun Park in Germany for an intense 2 weeks of training in an indoor ski resort. Jesse wants the kids to work hard in the pipe and get ready for the long season and likes the chance to get lots of one-on-one coaching. Snow Fun Park has a tons of crazy activities including a Go Kart track, Wii station, tubing course and a huge playground for Mini Shred to tear up. The kids get an up-close look at some German snowboarders who are fearless off the jump but have trouble landing. Jesse sees some great progress from the team and delivers the news that Scot has gone professional thanks to a deal with Flow Snowboards while he also meets the girl of his dreams.

108 | All The Big Boys Show Up

The ultimate Rocky Mountain high. Shreducation travels to Breckenridge, Colorado for the Grand Prix contest aired by NBC. Scot doesn't have a FIS number and almost doesn't get into the contest, bringing on a lecture from Jesse about personal responsibility. The kids discover a rail park in their neighbor's backyard and have a great time shredding it and hanging out. But the pressure is on again soon, and most of the team performs under expectations. Fortunately, Zak and Harry get another chance. At night, they sneak into the best trick event and end up laying down huge tricks and turning everyone's head. Back in the team chalet, the young shredders chill and make, as Zak puts it, 'Dillas and Scot's famous blend of Mac and Cheese.

109 | You Are All Champions

Shreducation makes the epic trek to Laxx, Switzerland for the Burton Euro Open but it takes an exhausting 22 hours, and Mini Shred falls asleep in the airport. Once they get to their destination Garret and Mini Shred are happy to find out they have their own place and decide not to pick up their rider credentials as Jesse instructed. Harry, Jake and Zak show up the next day ready to snowboard in the world's biggest junior pipe and slope event. Zak has come with his parents who witness him overcome the pressure and take 2nd overall in the slope-style contest, nailing some massive tricks off some scary jumps. The next day is half pipe and it snows over 5 feet, causing havoc for the riders in the contest. Jake steps it up and lands his run placing him top 10. For the first time this season, he has risen above the challenges he faces at home and taken his snowboarding to another level. Zak stomps his 2nd run and wins the event. But what amazes Zak the most is Jesse breaking into tears. All the frustration and work of the past year has been worth it. It's an important moment for them both.

110 | No Matter What Happens, I'm Already Stoked

Switzerland part 2. The team discovers that the mountain is so big you can snowboard to different towns and decide to cruise to the quaint town of Flims for the day where they have some fun and stir up a little trouble. Next up is the main event, the Burton Euro Open and all the stars of the sport have shown up. Harry, 14 years old, steps up his game and rides into semi finals as the team cheers him on. The kids get to watch their favorite riders up close and see some insane riding, including a massive mctwist from Kevin Pearce. Mini Shred learns the art of the back flip from Dez and goes huge in throwing a few down. The Switzerland trip is over and Jesse couldn't be hap- pier with his team's performance and results. Shreducation is making some noise.

111 | See What We Do

After resting for a week, Shreducation enters the Triple Challenge at Blue Mountain, their home mountain. This is a chance for the kids to show their friends and family the skills and tricks they have been learning all season. Jesse gives a quick tour of the team' house where they can see the mountain (or large hill) where they train and throw down. After pipe and slope, Scot and Harry take first and second in the rail event and win a cash prize while their proud parents watch from the side. The last event is the big air jump that looks deadly. A huge snowstorm hits making it almost impossible to see and get enough speed to clear the 70 ft monster jump. Scot ends up sending it, while the others try to decide if it's worth hitting. All in all, it was a great event, a chance for the team to connect with their roots before they set off for the biggest contest of the year.

112 | It's The Big One, The Big Show, So Here We Go

Soon after the team is traveling again, this time to Vermont for the Burton US Open which is the biggest event of the year. Jesse takes a crew of young riders, including some girl riders which gets Harry and Jake excited. After a long drive they get to the hotel lodge and get some rest. The next day is practice in the pipe but Harry is not riding well, which worries Jesse since he is trying to secure him a contract for next season. After some more practice and off-hill fun, it's time to showcase the skills of the Shreducation team to the world. At the top of the pipe, nerves become a factor and many of the kids fall in their runs, including Harry who falls in both pre qual runs on his 9. It bums him out but he vows to be back next season. Jeff, a new rider with the team with the 2010 Olympics in his sights, lands a banger run in quals and ends up making semi finals. A big moment for Jeff and Jesse.

113 | It Was Amazing Beyond Everything: See You Soon

Palmer's day for quals is tough. It rained all night making the pipe hard, fast and icy. She has been waiting for this day all season since a knee injury has kept her on the sidelines, now she can show and prove. Unfortunately, she falls on her 5 after a great start to her run but she is claiming she is charging next season with a comeback. Back at the lodge the kids on the team relax with some epic wrestling and an pro am pool game between Mini Shred and Cooper. The next day, Jeff ends up making finals with his massive airs, continuing to turn heads and stay on goal for the Olympics. Shreducation watches the best in the world send it in the pipe giving them a serious understanding of what it takes to be at the top of the game. Jesse is also working closely with Mini Shred for the Junior Jam, the showcase for the next big stars of snowboarding. The practice is chaotic with kids dropping everywhere, Mini Shred is charging it but is a little out of control. The day of the event, Garret shows up and ends up placing 4th while Mini Shred decides he needs to go for a 7 to give himself a chance to make finals. Finally, the season is wrapped up and reflected upon. It was amazing beyond everything. Next season is just around the corner. See you soon.
